Funding for Domestic Violence Programs

Nishnawbe-Aski Nation communities will benefit from $540,000 in funding from the Province to help address the problem of violence against women.
The money will mainly go towards training professionals to help recognize signs of domestic violence.
The Minister responsible for Women’s Issues Sandra Pupatello says they are focusing their attention on aboriginal youth.
The NAN is receiving cash to help girls aged 9 to 15 develop a positive self-image and build healthy relationships.
In all, the Government is spending $4.6 million on 28 initiatives.
