Dryden City Council has agreed to help fund the Canadian National
Institute for the Blind Eye Van that visits the community on a regular
basis.
The organization is asking each municipality it serves to contribute
$3,000, however Council has agreed to donate $2,000.
The City is concerned that it’s a health care issue that should be
handled by both levels of Senior Government but note the van is a valuable
resource.
The CNIB is looking for $90,000 to purchase a new eye van truck that
would offer a wide range of services including glaucoma surgery.
