Seven projects in the Dryden area are benefiting from $1.2 million in provincial funding.
The government is spending $361,875 to improve the Dryden Airport and renovate the terminal building to accommodate additional businesses and increase revenue.
Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation is getting $380,000 to build an Early Years Centre to provide land-based and cultural programming.
The Local Services Board of Wabigoon will use $150,000 to establish a multi-use pavilion for community events and recreation.
More than 62 thousand dollars ($62,628) is being invested in renovations and repairs to the Vermilion Bay Lions Hall.
A couple of businesses are also benefiting.
Parrs Jars is welcoming $80,247 to develop a commercial kitchen, meal and grocery service to make locally produced food accessible to the Dryden area.
Rocking K Ranch will use $18,386 to establish a new building and infrastructure to expand operations and fulfill growing demand for local beef.
The money is from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation and was announced Thursday by Kenora-Rainy River MPP Greg Rickford.
