Needy children and related organizations will benefit from a cash infusion from the Kenora District Services Board.
Chief Administrator Sten Lif says more than 250-thousand dollars will be provided through two separate funds.
Lif says the money will benefit Ontario Works, resource centres and toy libraries.
The funding was made available by federal and provincial programs and a bonus cheque from the Minister of Social Services.
The Kenora District Services Board received the bonus after it exceeded its workfare targets by more than 400 percent.
