Funding Request for Aboriginal Education

The Deputy Grand Chief of the Nishnawbe-Aski First NBtion wants to
see more Federal funding for aboriginal education programs.
Goyce Kakegamic says they’ve heard rumours that the Feds are prepared
to make a 1 billion dollar funding announcement next month.
Kakegamic suggests that native people aren’t failing, its the
education system that is failing them.
He would like to see aboriginal students have access to the
same services mainstream students receive through the school board system.
