Further Progress At Thunder Bay Inquest

A heartbreaking tale at a Thunder Bay inquest into the 2007 death of 15 year old Reggie Bushie.

On the stand was Dennis Franklin Cromarty school official Norma Keejick, who recounted the day in November of that year which she took Bushie’s brother Ricki Strang to the McIntyre River bank just hours before Bushie’s body was pulled from it.

She testified she asked Strang to remember why he was soaking wet the night Bushie vanished. She said when asked, were you looking for Reggie, he said yes and when asked where, he pointed straight ahead. Keejick says she asked police divers to look in that spot and several hours later, she says Bushie’s body was found at that location.

Earlier in the day, taking the stand was Alma Hastings who was driving Dennis Franklin Cromarty school students home the Friday night in October that Bushie disappeared. She testified there was confusion at his boarding home after Hastings was erroneously told it was his brother Ricky that was missing. She says that may have contributed in a delay in getting a missing person’s report out on his disappearance.
