The Responsible Gambling Council payed a visit to Dryden High School today (Thursday) with a live drama entitled ‘82%’.
The performance saw the lead character becoming more focused on his next bet as opposed to his studies as a first-year university student.
Cast member Rick Simm says the system failed the character and that’s the message they are trying to get out.
The Council says young adults are much more likely to see gambling as a way to make money and are twice at risk of developing a gambling problem.
The increased exposure of gambling on television and internet has resulted in a spike of problem gambling among young people.
