A focus group has released a report on Long Term Care in Ontario.
Kevin Tyrell is the Regional Vice President of Ontario Council of Hospital Unions.
He says there are some very concerning statistics in the report.
Some of the key findings are 91% of homes can’t provide quality care and 97% say they don’t have the staffing levels to offer quality care.
Tyrrell says current patients in long term care receive on average 2.5 hours of care a day.
The report recommends increasing that to 4 hours daily.
The campaign to lobby the government will be launched at Queen’ park in January.
