A province-wide campaign is underway to get students more involved in October’s Municipal elections.
The Canadian Federation of Students-Ontario has launched ‘Generation Vote’.
The initiative encourages students to vote and to raise awareness about municipal issues that effect youth.
The Federation says students are largely forgotten in municipal election campaigns.
Issues of note include improved public transit, living wages, more affordable housing options, better access to childcare and more support for parks, libraries and recreation centres.
