Goldcorp has been hit with hefty fine under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
The company pleaded guilty to failing to provide sufficient supervision to night shift workers and failing to take reasonable safety precautions in conncection with the November 2000 death of a worker at the Red Lake Mine Mill.
Court was told the employee was pulled into an ore crusher and killed.
Mr. Justice Peter Bishop fined Goldcorp a total of $225,000.
