The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour has established a new scholarship in honour of the memory of Jacob Lugli.
The 17-year-old from Dryden competed on the tour but he and his dad Mark tragically lost their lives in a devastating car crash this past summer.
They were en route to an tour event in Selkirk.
The $1,000 scholarship is for an individual who is developing as a champion in both golf and life, showing leadership and community service.
17-year-old Eric Strick of Winnipeg is the inaugural winner.
Strick says “I am especially touched that I have received this first-time award in honour of fellow MJT member, Jacob Lugli, whose passing has truly impacted all of us.”
