You want some good news today? Well…..here it is!
A 13-year-old boy in England’s West Midlands has raised tens of thousands for charity by recycling more than 1.5 million drink cans over the past three years.
Ryan Hulance, founder of the We Can initiative, launched his passion project as a way to make money for food banks while also caring for the environment. He was only 10 when he began contacting businesses asking if they could spare any cans that he could sell to be recycled.
Scrap metal firms in England pay, on average, around 80 cents for aluminium that is the equivalent to roughly 65 cans.
Ryan said. “I came up with the idea because I wanted to help people and the environment at the same time.”
