Good News on Horizon for Atikokan Plant

Ontario Power Generation is looking at replacing coal with biomass at its power-generating plant in Atikokan.
OPG is now gathering information to determine supply and costs.
Spokesperson Ted Gruetzer says they’ve been conducting several test burns involving biomass with some success.
O-P-G plans to convert the plants by 2012, with possibly converting 3-other coal-fired plants, including Thunder Bay’s, shortly afterward.
