Dad was a fix-it kind of guy who, after retirement from the Dryden mill, loved to putter around his house to fix things and make all sorts of gadgets. If you ever had the chance to see his furnace room you would marvel at all the oddities you would find there and try to guess what they were used for. All of these treasures were usually of his making.
In his younger years he did a lot of curling at the old rink in Wabigoon, and playing horseshoe was one of his favorite past times.
He and Ursula, his wife of 67 years, were regulars at the Friday night meat draw at the Legion and even after Ursula passed away he would still go for supper at the Central and attend the meat draw at the legion every Friday until he became too frail to go.
Visitation will be held at the Dryden Community Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday October 22, 2013 from 11:00am-1:00pm.
A Funeral Service to celebrate the life of Gordon will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 1:00pm at the Dryden Community Funeral Home Chapel with Father Dick Kennedy officiating. A Legion Service and Honour Guard to follow. Interment to follow in the Wabigoon Cemetery.
