Mines across the province are being inspected by the Ministry of Labour.
Officials are looking for hazards that could lead to the collapse of excavated rock in underground mines to keep workers safe.
The Ontario government says since 2000, 10 workers have died and nearly 50 have been critically injured in underground mines as a result of being struck by rock falls.
The inspections are underway and will wrap up on September 27th.
