The Provincial Government has quietly scrapped Northern consultations surrounding the controversial forest tenure Legislation.
Randy Hillier is the Conservative Critic for Northern Affairs and says to add insult to injury, the Government has set Thursday as the last day for input.
Hillier says the Bill is devastating for Northern communities and will create more uncertainty in the forest industry.
Hillier is urging residents to e-mail or call the Premier’s Office as well as Algoma-Manitoulin MPP Mike Brown, who Chaired the Forest Tenure Committee.
The Legislation has been an issue of discontent in several area communities attempting to keep their mills operational.
