Governor General Out With New Year’s Message

Canada’s Governor General says 2014 was a year of great celebration and commemoration.
In his New Years message, David Johnston says Canadians marked a number of significant anniversaries and would like 2015 to be one where Canadians become more active.
Johnston says whether it’s helping others, or participating in civic life, it doesn’t matter how you get involved, just do it.
He notes active Canadians leads to prosperous communities.
Johnston also notes 2015 will be the Year of Sport in Canada as it hosts a number of international events.
