Grand Council Treaty #3 supports permanent DST

Grand Council Treaty #3 is endorsing the province’s decision to establish permanent Daylight Savings Time in northwestern Ontario.

Chiefs in the area recently passed a resolution of support at the annual Fall Assembly on Shoal Lake #40.

Treatry #3 says their territory not only spans much of northwestern Ontario, but a couple of communities in eastern Manitoba.

The potential division of Treaty #3 into different time zones would create unnecessary challenges.

It says their resolution of support of permanent Daylight Savings Time, shows the importance of consistancy and recognizes the inter-connectedness of it’s communities.
