Grassy Narrows Chief Speaks Out About Election

The Chief of Grassy Narrows says the Assembly of First Nations needs to be prepared for the next federal election.
The AFN has agreed to elect a new chief in December and Roger Fobister says there’s a growing need to ensure first nations issues don’t fall off the national agenda.
Fobister says they need a national chief to deal with the current government and to get ready for the October 2015 vote.
He adds they also need to talk to Justin Trudeau to see if he’s really a government in waiting.
The Assembly of First Nations has been without a leader since Shawn Atleo unexpectedly stepped down in May.
