Grassy Narrows Lawyer Responds To Decision

The Grassy Narrows First Nation sees some positives in a Supreme Court Ruling that favours the province.
The high court ruled the Ontario has the right to permit industrial logging activity in Grassy’s Traditional Land Use Territory.
Robert Janes is the band’s lawyer and says the ruling does put some restrictions on the province.
Janes says the court made it clear that there are some limits on provincial power and calls for better communication between the two.
He says it should lead to more consultations.
Janes admits he’s not too shocked by the ruling.
