For the first time in the schools history, 2-Dryden Eagle teams are
headed to the All-Ontario Hockey Championships.
The Eagle Girls captured their second straight NORWOSSA crown with a
6-3 win over Kenora Sunday night.
Coach Clinton Bruetsch says it was nice to win on home ice.
Stephanie Robinson, Erin Capovilla and Meghan Pinette scored 2-goals
each, while Melissa Calder made 29 saves for the victory.
The eagles will now prepare for the OFSAA Championship in St.Thomas.
The Dryden Boys also secured a trip to the Provincial championship
with a 6-4 win against Red Lake.
David Spicer led the way with 2-goals, while Ryan Helbling, Adam Bryck,
Shawn Degagne and Shawn Capovilla added singles.
Shawn Bulawka scored 2, while Devin O’Donnell and Peter Martone added
singles for the Rams.
The Eagles will travel to Fort Frances for the boys championship.
