The fight continues to keep the Experimental Lakes Area west of Dryden open.
More than 2,900 people from 58-countries have signed an on-line petition.
The petition was aimed mostly at international supporters and it closed last week.
Some signatories commented that the decision was “short sighted” and “damages Canada’s international reputation.”
Others criticized a plan to transfer the research facility to a non-governmental organization or a University.
