Green Light for OPP

A smooth transition is expected.
Atikokan has been given the all-clear to disband the Municipal Police
Force and switch to OPP.
Officials say the transition should be completed in late January or
early February.
There are some conditions including renovations to the OPP Station,
employment opportunities must be offered to current Township officers and
civilian support staff and some severance issues must be cleared up.
The Town is anticipating no major problems.
