The environmental group Greenpeace says Resolute Forest Products logging operations aren’t as sustainable as they claim to be.
Spokesperson Shane Moffatt says they talk about being committed to responsible corporate citizenship, but says it’s all about the measure of the company.
He notes that if Resolute in Thunder Bay can’t committed to paying the taxes, how can they be trusted to protect the forest and endangered species.
As Resolute talks about saving the animals at risk, Moffatt says that the number of caribou are facing a serious decline and that Resolute is clear cutting some of the most endangered boreal forest in Canada.
