An Ontario Superior Court judge has dismissed a lawsuit over a bus crash caused by a passenger with a mental illness.
Justice Terrence Platana ruled that Greyhound Canada and the OPP are not liable for the crash that occurred in 2000 near Upsala. The crash was caused when 21-year-old Shaun Davis of Nova Scotia grabbed the wheel and steered the bus into a ditch on Highway 17.
A 70-year-old woman was fatally injured and several others were injured.
21-passengers went to court seeking compensation from Greyhound and the OPP, but lost their case Thursday.
