A major initiative that is meant to improve the economic fortunes of Northerners is close to being finalized.
Bill Mauro is the Ministry of Northern Development Parliamentary Assistant and says the Province is close to working out the details of the Grow Bonds program.
The initiative, expected to be ready by next summer, will allow local residents and businesses invest in themselves.
Mauro adds the Government is looking at changing the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund to help job creation within the private sector.
Mauro says there is more money in the fund this year, but future allocations aren’t known.
