Some Northwestern Ontario campers may not be enjoying
the lower prices for camping sites at Provincial Parks.
Only 2 parks in the region have adjusted to the new
lower federal sales tax rate, while others continue to
charge 7 percent GST.
Ministry of Natural Resources Spokesperson Bruce Van
Stall-Dune-nen says they hope to have all parks up to
speed later this month.

Van Stall Dune-nen adds the Provincial Parks do not get
to keep the extra 1 percent of GST, it’s being sent back
to Ottawa.
