GST Rebate Program Back

The Northern Ontario Tourist Outfitters Association believes a lobbying
effort has resulted in the return of the GST rebate for foreign visitors.
The Federal Government cut the program last year but decided to bring
it back in this year’s budget.
NOTO Executive Director Doug Reynolds says the rebate will only apply
to out-of-country visitors who purchase a package at a tourist resort.
Reynolds adds the rebate will also apply to international visitors
attending Conventions.
