The Nishinabe-Aski Nation says it wants the federal government to help out with the swine flu outbreak in various remote Northwestern Ontario First Nation Communities.
Grand Chief Stan Beardy says there are now 13 confirmed cases of H1N1 on 6-first nations and there are clusters of outbreaks that have the potential to move quickly.
He says the communities need to have adequate medical attention and and medical supplies to address the health concerns.
Meantime, the Medical Officer of Health for the Northwestern Health Unit has scheduled a 1 o’clock news conference Wednesday to discuss the swine flu pandemic.
