NDP Leader Howard Hampton says the sale of 485-thousand
acres of N.W.O. timberlands to an American company shows
how phony both level of government’s forestry sector
policies are.
Abitibi sold the land last week to a US company for 55-
million dollars.
Hampton says the sale is a bad deal for the entire
region.

Hampton adds both levels of government should have
pooled their forestry money in order to purchase the
timberlands, & keep them in Canadian hands.
