The downturn in the forest industry was the top news story in northwestern Ontario this past year, and the situation
isn’t expected to get much better in 2007, according to
Kenora-Rainy River M.P.P. Howard Hampton.
The N.D.P. leader says the provincial government has been
to slow to react to the forestry crisis, and as a result
communities in the north are paying the price.
Hampton says he expects to see increased government advertising in 2007 as the McGuinty government prepares for a provincial election on October 4th.
