Kenora Rainy River MPP Howard Hampton says both levels
of Government need to work together to improve the lives
of Northwestern Ontario’s First Nations.
Hampton spoke at the Nishinawbe Aski Nation Conference
in Timmins this week.
The NDP Leader says aboriginal communities deserve to be
consulted before any industrial activity begins on their
traditional land use area.

The Nishinawbe Aski Nation Leadership meeting brought in
a lot of big names from the Provincial and Federal
Governments.
Ontario’s Minister of Aboriginal Affairs Michael Bryant
met with NAN leaders on Wednesday, and Federal NDP Leader
Jack Layton spoke yesterday (Thursday).
