NDP Leader Howard Hampton doesn’t expect the McGuinty
government to allow stud tires back on Northern roads any
time soon.
Hampton says stud tires are not the solution to the areas
slippery and treacherous winter roads.

Hampton feels many parts of Northern Ontario highways are
not getting enough maintenance.
He adds they need timely salting and sanding, as well as
routine snow ploughing.
