There wasn’t a lot of suspense as NDP leader Howard Hampton was acclaimed as the party’s candidate in the Kenora-Rainy River Riding for the upcoming provincial election.
Hampton was nominated over the weekend as meetings in Kenora, Dryden and Fort Frances.
Hampton says there are a number of key issues in the election for this riding, particularly forestry.

Hampton will be challenged in the October 10th election by Mike Wood of the Liberals, Penny Lucas for the Conservatives and Jo Jo Holiday from the green party.
