A fundraising drive coupled with government funding has allowed Sioux Lookout to offer Handi-Transit service 5 days a week, 8 hours a day.
The project will allow for the purchase of a new vehicle and the hiring of a co-ordinator to carry out the program.
Director of Public Services Al Howie says the service need to be enhanced because of its popularity.
The vehicle has only been operating 2 days per week.
The enhanced service goes into effect January 27th.
Howie says after June they may be offering an expanded service an alter some times based on customer need.
