Handi-Transit Receives Charitable Status

Handi-Transit in Sioux Lookout has received charitable status.
Director of Recreation Al Howie hopes that will open some doors to additional funding because the service is only running twice a week right now.
The service had been running on a daily basis but insurance difficulties during the summer limited operations.
Howie says they hope to partner with other groups to lesses the financial burden on users.
The charity status means donors will be issued a tax receipt.
