Harper Hopes To Bring Broadband To More Rural Areas

Conservative leader Stephen Harper promising to expand broadband services in Canada.

While campaigning in Lancaster, Ontario, Harper says a re-elected Conservative government will earmark 200-million dollars in one-time funding toward improving internet access in rural areas.

Harper says this latest funding will help bring high speed internet to an additional 350-thousand households by 2017.

Conservative Candidate in the Kenora riding Greg Rickford also mentions “Our Conservative Government has made great strides in bringing high-speed internet into more rural and remote areas across Northwestern Ontario.”

Rickford adds “This builds on the announcement I made in June to bring reliable high-speed internet to nearly 2,500 homes in the great Kenora riding.”
