In loving memory of Harvey Bishop, age 85 of Dryden, who passed away on Sunday February 13th, 2011 at Princess Court.
Harvey leaves his wife of 66 years Audrey, sons Tom, Rick (Dianne), granddaughters Schenley, Brittney, Caily (Shaun) Wright, Tammy (Clayton) Bazinet, grandson Shaun (Meghan) Bishop, great-grandchildren; Brenna & Keira Wright, Adrielle Bazinet, and Kingston Bishop, brother Frank (Tammy), sisters Grace, Sarah (Rick) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Harvey began his working career at 16 years of age on the boats on the Great Lakes, at age 18 he joined the Royal Canadian Navy. When leaving the Navy he worked as a carpenter moving to Dryden in 1952. There he worked for the Town, then taking a contract for Garbage Removal for Dryden. He finished his career as Maintenance Supervisor for the Board of Education.
He enjoyed all sports and especially fishing, hunting, hockey, and curling. He loved his cabin on Ghost Lake and especially when family and friends visited. He was proud of all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be missed by all.
There will be no Visitation as cremation has taken place.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 18th, 2011
at 1:00 p.m. at the Dryden Community Funeral Home’s Chapel with
Reverend Mary Mennell officiating. A Legion Service with Honour Guard will follow.
Interment will be at a later date.
