The Liberal government is defending its decision to impose new contracts on Ontario’s physicians.
Health Minister Eric Hoskins says they tried to reach a negotiated deal.
However, Hoskins notes talks are just focused around money.
He says Ontario doctors are the most talented in north America and the highest paid in Canada.
The Ontario Medical Association criticizes the contract and says new doctors will be leaving the province because the deal prohibits them from working in family health teams where they want to work.
