Health Minister Defends New Graduate Entry Program

Ontario Health Minister says its New Graduate Entry Program isn’t forcing new doctors to do anything.

The Ontario Medical Association says the program places restrictions on new grads who don’t join Family Health Teams in areas designated as high needs.

Minister Eric Hoskins says the program is completely voluntary and adds that they tried unsuccessfully to get the OMA involved in the process.
