Health Status Report Contains Little Good News

A ‘Health Status Report’ has been released with no major surprises in
this Region.
The Northwestern Health Unit says Hospital visits for chronic diseases
were significantly higher than the rest of Ontario.
Director of Program Planning Val Mann says the study outlines that Northerners drink more and are more exposed to second-hand smoke.
She notes we also die at an earlier age.
The Health Unit will use the information to draft an action plan,
but Officials are already in the process of expanding their nutrition program.
