The Northwestern Health Unit won’t be releasing the names of individual communities impacted by swine flu.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Jim Arthurs addressed the Media Wednesday afternoon.
Arthurs says the decision comes on the heels of discussions with a number of stakeholders, including remote First Nation Communities.
26-cases of Swine Flu have been identified in Northwestern Ontario, most in remote First Nation Communities.
Arthurs says most of the cases can be described as mild to moderate, with a minimal amount of serious cases.
Anti-viral medications are available in most remote communities to treat those who are effected.
