A new report on aids in Ontario shows that there has been an increase in the number of women testing positive for HIV.
The Northwestern Health Unit is especially encouraging pregnant women to be tested, not only for the sake of their own health, but that of their baby.
Karen Essery is Director of Health Protection and says about 25% of women are neglecting to be tested for HIV.
Essery believes some are leary because of the stigma attached to the virus.
