Health Unit Continues Smoking Crackdown

A Tobacco Enforcement Officer with the Northwestern Health Unit says
since the Smoke-Free Ontario Act came into effect, 90% of vendors
have complied with the Legislation.
Wally McLeod says area stores and gas bars have received the ‘Not to Kids’ binder with information on the Smoke-Free Ontario Act, the signage required and who to ask for id.
McLeod says the next date to remember is May 31st, 2008 when tobacco
vendors will no longer be able to display tobacco products where the
customer can see them.
