Promoting a healthy lifestyle is the focus of a new Northwestern
Health Unit initiative.
Spokesperson Jennifer Mackie says the Province is providing
$141,000 in annual funding to assist Schools with their individual nutrition programs.
Mackie says they want students to arrive to School with plenty of
energy and ready to learn.
She adds they also intend to help low income families access healthy
food.
Mackie says the Province is taking significant strides in eliminating
junk food from Ontario Schools.
