Most Municipalities in the Kenora and Rainy River Districts will get a
bit of a break on the amount of money they contribute to the Northwestern
Health Unit next year.
The Region’s Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Pete Sarsfield says
the Board has approved a per capita levy of $54.33, which
is the same as this year.
Sarsfield says because the population has declined in the past year,
with the exception of Dryden, the amount of funding generated from local
Municipalities has dropped by over $100,000.
Sarsfield says they will collect about $2.66-million in 2007.
