14 new cases of COVID-19 are being reported by the Northwestern Health Unit Wednesday morning.
Seven of the new cases come from the Kenora health hub, five from the Sioux Lookout region and two from the Fort Frances area.
In all the NWHU tells us that there are currently 75 active cases of the novel coronavirus in their catchment area, which is up from the 66 active cases they reported on Tuesday.
The Kenora region has 36 active cases, while the Fort Frances and Sioux Lookout health hubs have 16 and 14 cases respectively.
The Rainy River hub has five cases, Emo has three and Dryden is down to one. Both the Atikokan and Red Lake hubs are currently without active COVID-19 cases.
875 doses of vaccine were administered between Tuesday and Wednesday bringing the total number of doses to 29,930.
While that number only represents 30 per-cent of the entire NWHU population, it represents 48 per-cent of the 18+ population as vaccine eligibility is set to expand.
The Thunder Bay district continues to experience low case loads with 5 today.
There are now 45 active cases.
