Healthy Smiles Program Back

The Northwestern Health Unit will be rolling out a program this Fall to improve the oral health of kids in the Kenora and Rainy-River Districts.
Healthy Smiles Ontario provides a no-cost dental program for children under the age of 17 who don’t have access to dental coverage.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Jim Arthurs says the program is designed for low-income households, that is families with a net income of $20,000 a year or less.
Arthurs adds that the Health Unit has also received funding from the province to operate a mobile dental clinic that can go into communities that don’t have dentists.
