Heat Warming in Effect – Could End Tuesday

Heat Warning remains in effect for:

Dryden – Vermilion Bay

Ignace – English River

Kenora – Sioux Narrows

Rainy River

A hot and humid airmass continued to affect parts of Northwestern Ontario today.

Daytime high temperatures were near 29 degrees with humidex values near or above 36.

Overnight low temperatures will remain near or above 18 degrees, which will not provide much relief from the heat.

The hot condition may continue for areas near the Minnesota border on Tuesday. Cooler air is expected Tuesday night.

Watch for the effects of heat illness: swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions.

Drink plenty of water even before you feel thirsty and stay in a cool place.

Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
