A Heat Warning remains in effect for northwestern Ontario.
Environment Canada says maximum temperatures are expected to be between 32 and 36 today (Monday), but it will feel more like 36 to 42 with the humidity.
The agency adds there is little relief overnight and into tomorrow morning with minimum temperatures forecast to drop to between 18 and 22 degrees.
The heat may continue into Tuesday for some areas.
Meteorologist’s say hot and humid air can also bring deteriorating air quality into the high risk category.
The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.
Watch for the effects of heat illness: swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions.
A reminder to drink plenty of water and stay in a cool place.
